2024 Roadmap

Today, we are thrilled to unveil our roadmap for the year 2024 💖

In 2023, we celebrated many significant milestones, from expanding our multi-platform initiatives with the launch of Nine Chronicles M to introducing innovative features like Golden Dust and Aura.

Rest assured, this year we aim to match, if not surpass, the offerings of the previous year. In 2024, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver a web3 community-driven experience to our valued community. This roadmap serves as a reminder of our commitment. However, please note that the items and dates are subject to change based on internal developments. 💪🏻

I. POS Conversion: A step closer to becoming 100% everlasting

💻 PoS Transition

In 2022, our team began the PBFT (Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance) implementation and in 2023, we kicked off the transition to PoS, a consensus algorithm where chain users elect delegates to verify transactions on their behalf. The consensus process is more democratic and ensures that the community can participate in the process.

The PoS transition efforts bring us closer to our vision from Day 1 — building a fully decentralized game that will sustain without the intervention of the game company. 🙌🏻 Currently, we are in talks with leading projects regarding the validator pool and we will continue to share further updates and behind-the-scenes via the dev team’s Engineering Snack.

II. Game Ecosystem & Community: Enhancing the web3 gaming experience

🗺️ New Content

We’re currently developing new worlds Hel and Vanaheim as well as some unique monsters. This year, our goal is to roll out new content that will further boost gameplay and provide immersive experiences such as item collection, circular content, and growth system features such as costumes, pets and more.

🎮 Community-driven web3 gaming experience

We kicked off the pilot version of our Guild content, ‘Prelude to Guild War’, which encouraged the community to engage in unprecedented ways. The Guild content will go under iterations before becoming official content. We’re also considering various ways for users to create mods or build items using self-crafted resources in the Arena and World Boss content. Further, our goal is to enhance the community-driven experience by providing support for IP expansion, grants and more.

💰 In-game Economy

Earlier this year, we revamped the Monster Collection reward system to ensure a sustainable NCG ecosystem in addition to adopting garage tokens, which are at the core of a decentralized business model. We also decided to extend the D:CC staking reward by 1 year with an additional 300,000 WNCG. Going forward, we plan to burn some of the revenue that incur from the IAP in Nine Chronicles M to contribute to the game’s token economy.

III. Partnerships: Building Together

This year, we aim to expand our collaborations with existing partners such as YGG and BNB Chain in addition to increasing outreach efforts with leaders in the web3 gaming space. In the coming weeks, we’ll be revealing a special collaboration event with a new partner so stay tuned! 🤫

Lastly, why take the hard road?

‘Why should we create an on-chain game? It’s hard’

Behind the development of Ethereum lies a well-known story about Vitalik Buterin. The story goes like this. Buterin realized the need for decentralized services when his World of Warcraft character got nerfed. This inspired him to create Ethereum.

Nine Chronicles was built 100% on-chain because of the team’s vision to create an eternal world where the game will sustain as long as there is a single player. Even if the company no longer exists, the game itself will carry on as an infinite world.

While we’re fully aware of the challenges that come our way, we believe that by leveraging blockchain technology, Nine Chronicles will be able to build an ecosystem comprised of creative and diverse mods, content and products.
